Some clues to the mystery. Stars will form using the colors designated by Dark and Med Dark. They should not be the same fabric so that they will be distinguishable
The Light is the background, but may be also a light print
The Lt Med and the Medium must have significant contrast. Scrap Quilt Lovers You can use scrap for the areas… Lt Med, Med, Med Dark, and Dark I would use all the same color for the light, but it can be scraps of all Beige or whatever
Border fabric need not be purchased ahead. I like to keep that as my reward for finishing the top !!!!!
One approach is to make the small quilt and if you just LOVE it you can make more blocks
